The mission of the Shared Services Alliance is to help Family Child Care Home providers to build a sustainable business, increase revenue, and eliminate business struggles that keep them from growing. The Shared Services Alliance is an administrative structure that enables services at scale. The FCCH Network will house the Shared Services Alliance effort and act as a hub of support and connection for FCC providers. We are looking for providers to be part of the Design Team.

A Shared Services Alliance can offer solutions for:

  • Substitute Pool

  • Training/ Peer Connections and Learning

  • Business Management

  • Tuition / Enrollment Services

  • Grant Application


OPPORTUNITIES

FIRST 5 Santa Clara County will create a Design Team made up of up to 30 Family Child Care Home early educators to design and launch the Santa Clara County Family Child Care (FCC) Network and Shared Services Alliance.

BENEFITS OF JOINING THE DESIGN TEAM

  • Build your leadership and the leadership of others as part of positive change for Family Child Care early educators in Santa Clara County

  • Stipend: $4,000

  • FIRST 5 will distribute checks, you will receive half of the stipend in April 2023 and half of the stipend in Nov 2023 (A current completed W9 is required to distribute your stipend for the Fiscal Year 2023-2024)

  • Design Team Certificate of Accomplishment

  • Strengthening equity in Santa Clara County for Family Child Care early educators

  • Work with peers, the community, and the Family Child Care network to build something useful

  • Uplift Family Child Care concerns, priorities, and needs to inform FCC Network and Shared Services Alliance

DESIGN TEAM’S RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Team outcomes will include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement a plan to establish goals of the Santa Clara County Family Child Care (FCC) Network and Shared Services Alliance and determine the long-term sustainability of the model

  • Host a full-day SCC FCC Network Conference in the Fall of 2023

  • Engage with FIRST 5 Santa Clara County data evaluation partner Applied Survey Research (ASR) team to develop and implement an evaluation plan

  • Prioritize FCC recommendations to ensure ongoing

DESIGN TEAM MEMBERS’ COMMITMENT

  • Approximately 1 Year Commitment Term: October 2022- October 2023 with the potential to renew participation

  • If you are unable to commit to the entire year as a Design Team member but are still interested in this opportunity, please still apply and contact us about your needs

  • Time Commitment: Up to 5 hours/week (20 hours/month)

  • Communicate by email, text, phone, and Zoom with FIRST 5 Staff and Family Child Care Design Team Members

We will be sending out email notifications on Oct 17th whether or not folks are accepted onto the Design Team & folks will have until Sun Oct 23rd to confirm their spot by signing a Commitment Form and filling out a survey.

We are excited to share that we have selected our Design Team of Family Child Care Home providers for Shared Services Alliance and we started meeting in November!
