Enrollment Requirements

Family Child Care Homes are required to meet the following standard requirements for ongoing participation in QUALITY MATTERS.

QUALITY MATTERS Orientation

Open Enrollment in QUALITY MATTERS happens each year in the fall. Interested providers are required to attend an orientation to better understand the initiative and the current educational opportunities, community-building activities, and leadership development options.

Returning participants are highly recommended to attend the orientation to understand the initiative and become familiarized with current and/or new educational opportunities, community-building activities, and leadership development options.

Annual Membership Form

The annual membership form collects child care site-level information on an annual basis. This standard requirement is collected in the spring for all sites participating in QUALITY MATTERS. This information is then shared with the funding partners of QUALITY MATTERS for ongoing support for QUALITY MATTERS and expanded services for QUALITY MATTERS participants.

Quality Improvement Plan

A Quality Improvement Plan supports an individual and/or site to identify areas of growth and reinforce the progress in improving the quality of their child care program. This Plan has goals and action steps.

A QIP can address a variety of areas including but not limited to, the early learning environment, interactions, educators’ professional development and educational attainment, family engagement, equity, cultural and linguistic diversity, program administration, and leadership.

Family Child Care Home providers are required to select at least one Quality Improvement Goal annually when participating in QUALITY MATTERS. We also require a review and update during the mid-year.

ECE Workforce Registry

The California ECE Workforce Registry is a state, regional and local collaboration designed to track and promote the education, training and experience of the early care and education workforce for the purpose of improving professionalism and workforce quality to positively impact children.

Participation Agreement

A participation agreement outlines expectations, responsibilities, and commitment between the FCCH provider and QUALITY MATTERS. We ask all participants to read this document and sign as one of the steps to join QUALITY MATTERS.

QUALITY MATTERS meeting attendance

When we hold evening or weekend meetings for FCCH providers, please join us whether in-person or virtual. We want to share important information or hear from you about new opportunities that impact your child care program.
